conditions up to page 8.

What students can enter -
There are three broad areas students can enter - solo, rock band and extras.
Solo guitar sections -
In these sections students play on their own with a backing track.
Students can enter as many sections as they like playing one song per section. We’ll work out how many sections for each student but I’m hoping at least 2 sections each.
The dates are not set as yet but around Thursday 23rd to Sat 25th July.
The venue is the band room in the Shalom College performing arts precinct. Same as 2025. PLEASE read the info at the bottom about how to enter the building.
There are 4 sections to choose from -
Chords - the song can only have chords and no riffs or solos.
The chords can be open chords, bar chords or more fancy chord shape. Students can strum, bass/chord strum or fingerpick.
Riff - the song can have chords and riffs but no solo.
Lead solos - the song will have chords, riffs and a solo or solos.
Melody / instrumental - play an already recognised instrumental or a vocal piece as an instrumental but no pieces recognized as a lead solo.
Rock band section -
Students perform 1 song in their rock band.
Teachers will make the rock bands from Bandwagon students and some outside students for vocals and drums.
The date is Fri 24th July.
The venue is Shalom.
Other sections -
There are some other sections students can enter -
Novice - Any instrument: learning 18 months or less – Own Choice
Singer / songwriter - An original song must be written and performed by the competitor. Chord charts and lyrics are to be submitted as own choice music for your adjudicator.
Duet / trio - All instrument families welcome. Please state your instruments upon entry. Competitors may only perform once in this section. If competitors are multi-age, you must enter the age section of the eldest competitor. Teacher piano accompaniment allowed
The date is not set yet but most likely Fri 24th July.
The venue is Shalom.
Enrolling and costs -
The eisteddfod committee has insisted that
students do all of their own enrolling
for their solo sections.
There are two websites you must join.
There are fees attached to both of these.
There is also a fee of $10 per section payable to me to cover the cost of backing tracks, music and admin.
Firstly join comps online where you can enrol students into their individual sections. Enrolling is open til Friday May 8.
(Bandwagon has already enrolled the bands).
Secondly you will need to join Music Uploads where you store the sheet music and backing tracks for each student and their sections. We will provide the sheet music and backing tracks once all songs are worked out. This will open sometime in May.
Backing tracks and sheet music/cheat sheets/TAB -
You can download your backing track/s from -
You can download your sheet music / cheat sheet / TAB from here -
Solo sections venue -
The guitar sections will be in the band room at Shalom College Performing Arts Precinct and not in the theatre which is being used for a school staff training.
The band room is a part of the Performing Arts Precinct which includes the theatre.
The best place to park is in the carpark off Eggmolesse Road.
Then use the back door to enter the building.
PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE FOYER.
